The Daily Orange is a student-run, independent newspaper and was one of my favorite places at Syracuse University. As video editor, I designed a video style and brand for The Daily Orange, built and led a team of videographers to cover events and people on and around campus, and established video as an independent section of the paper.
Thirty-five Syracuse University students were aboard Pan Am Flight 103 when it went down over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988. Every year, Syracuse University takes a week to honor their lives. I reached out to the local stations for news coverage of the event, shot the footage on campus, and helped edit this video to preview Remembrance Week 2017.
In January 2017, I traveled to Washington D.C. to cover the presidential inauguration, protests, and the Women’s Day March. As a team, we published four videos — I shot all the Washington D.C. footage, edited this video and oversaw production for the others.
The sports section at the paper produces a ‘Basketball Guide’ at the beginning of each season and I animated short graphic videos to supplement our online content.
